Treaty No. 6 Territory — Organizers of the Treaty 6 150th Commemorative Gathering are pleased to announce the historic gathering taking place from August 20–23, 2026 at Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park.
Several distinguished guests and dignitaries are expected to be in attendance, including the Right Honourable Louise Arbour, Governor General of Canada, Treaty First Nations leadership, the Honourable Bernadette McIntyre, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, the Honourable Scott Moe, Premier of Saskatchewan, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and many other dignitaries.
The Treaty 6 150th Commemorative Gathering marks the 150th anniversary of the making of Treaty No. 6 and will bring together First Nations, governments, institutions, and the public to reflect on the treaty relationship, honour the spirit and intent of Treaty, and celebrate the enduring legacy of Treaty 6 Peoples.
Treaty 6 leaders have led the planning for the Treaty 6 150th Commemorative Gathering and have entered into a collaborative partnership with Pemiska Tourism of Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation and the Office of the Treaty Commissioner, located on the English River Urban Reserve within Treaty No. 6 Territory.
Working closely with First Nations, municipalities, businesses, and community partners throughout Treaty No. 6 Territory, the planning committee is committed to delivering a meaningful gathering.
The planning committee recognizes that the 150th anniversary is about more than commemorating a historical event. Treaty No. 6 is a living agreement that continues to shape and guide the relationship between First Nations and the Crown today.
Through this commemoration, organizers aim to honour the past, celebrate the resilience of Treaty Peoples, and encourage a shared commitment to the principles and responsibilities of Treaty for future generations.

Event-issued press credentials will be available for pickup at the event registration area upon confirmation of verification and at the time of arrival.
