Treaty 6 150 Logo Contest

Treaty 6 150 is a once-in-a-generation commemoration honouring the signing of Treaty 6 and its living legacy. To mark this milestone, we invite artists and creatives—especially those from Treaty 6 territory—to submit logo concepts that reflect the spirit, history, and meaning of Treaty 6.

The selected design will become the official logo for Treaty 6 150, used across digital, print, and event materials. The chosen artist will receive an honorarium, recognition, and a complimentary overnight stay at Pêmiska Lodges at Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park.

Honorarium & Artist Recognition

The selected artist will receive:

  • $500 honorarium
  • One complimentary overnight stay at Pêmiska Tourism lodges located at Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park

The artist will also be credited throughout the event, including on signage, the website, and social media where appropriate.

Who Can Enter

To emphasize the treaty relationship this contest is open to all artists and designers, both emerging and established

Preference will be given to artists from Treaty 6 territory

Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply.

Design Guidelines

Logo concepts will:

  • Avoid overly complex imagery that does not scale well at small or large sizes
  • Meaningfully reflect Treaty 6, its history, and its ongoing relevance today
  • Be original work created by the submitting artist(s)
  • Be adaptable for multiple uses, including: Digital platforms (website, social media)Print materials (posters, signage, merchandise)

Submission Requirements

Please include the following in your submission:

  • Logo concept file
    • Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, or PDF
    • Vector format is preferred (AI, SVG, EPS)
  • Written description (100–250 words) explaining the meaning and inspiration behind the design
  • Artist name, previous work (social media, or website), short biography, and contact information

AI submissions will be excluded.

Selection Process

All submissions will be reviewed by the Treaty 6 150 Organizing Team.

The selected logo will be chosen based on:

  • Cultural relevance and respect
  • Creativity and originality
  • Clarity, versatility, and scalability of the design

The organizing team reserves the right not to select a winner if submissions do not meet expectations.

Rights & Usage

  • Any logo concepts submitted may become the official logo of Treaty 6 150
  • By applying to this contest, the artist agrees to grant full usage rights to the Treaty 6 150 organizers for promotional and commemorative purposes
  • The artist waives any future ownership claims or additional compensation related to the logo design
  • Artist credit will be provided where appropriate across event materials
  • Treaty 6 150 organizing team reserves the right to change, alter, or refine submitted logos without notifying the artist
